How to foster a horse:
All of the horses you see on our site have been either abandoned or removed from their owners due to neglect, cruelty, or unsafe confinement. While the horses are legally the property of Skagit County Animal Control, SAIN arranges the care of these animals. We rely on volunteer foster homes since we do not currently have a physical facility. All care is paid for by donations. If you are interested in fostering a horse please contact Officer Emily Diaz at 360-416-1912. You can also fill out a foster application (below) and email it to SAINAdoptions@gmail.com.
Click here for a PDF version that you can fill out online.
To the right is a Word document if you would rather print out and mail your application.
How to adopt a horse:
The horses are available to approved homes only. The cost of each horse is by donation. A reference check, site check, and a no-breeding contract will be required. If you are interested in adopting a horse please contact Officer Emily Diaz at 360-419-3438. You can also fill out an adoption application and email it to SAINAdoptions@gmail.com.
If you would like to volunteer:
Much of the work that goes into these horses is provided by the foster families and our Board of Directors. However, we occasionally need help with the following activities: fundraising, helping with promotional events, transporting horses, cleaning stalls, moving and/or storing hay, etc. If you are willing to volunteer your time, please fill out a volunteer application and a liability release (BELOW) and mail it to us (S.A.I.N., P.O. Box 200, Bow, WA 98232) or send it to SAINVolunteers@gmail.com.
Volunteer Application & Liability Release (please submit both)
